Compare and Contrast

The two books I'm comparing and contrasting is Code of Honor and Steve Nash biography. I will compare and contrast the main character of the book. In Code of Honor the main character is Kamran Smith who is a teenager in high school and he is describe differently after some events happen with his brother. Kamran is a special teenager because he is the best in the football team and he also is dating the most popular girl in the school. But everything starts th change once his brother caused a huge catastrophe. Kamran throughout the book is trying to figure out the main reason for his brothers action and his also trying to regain everything he lost. In the Steve Nash biography it talks about his life and challenges he faced. For example Steve was always told by his coach that he was not good enough to make it into the NBA. Steve was very motivated to get far in basketball and make to the pros. He didn't really care what others were saying about him.
The similarities are that they both had changes in there life's that they had to faced. For example Kamran in Code of Honor had to face a Challege of making respectful how they use too. Kamran through out the book he tried to get back what he lost like for example he lost he girlfriend and his some friends. In the Steve Nash biography he had to face was proving people wrong that he will go the NBA. Throughout Nash's life he worked very had to prove his coach and his haters wrong.

The Maze Runner

The book I just recently started reading is call The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This book so far is getting interesting from what I've read. It's started off with Thomas in some sort of metal room. We    don't learn Thomas name until a little bit into the book. Thomas realizes that the only thing he remembers in life is his first name. Thomas knew that something was really stable that he wouldn't remember other important things. Back to the metal room Thomas realizes that it may be an elevator that his in. But he also feels like it may be something worse.
Some predictions I have for later in the book is that Thomas is going to find someone or something that may have erased his memory. I think this because Thomas is going to remember something and his going want to remember more things. He going to realize that there shave to be a way for his to lose his memory all of sudden. Also maybe Thomas will team up with some other people and work together to figure out who earned Thomas's memory. Another prediction is that the person who has Thomas captured will put him in an maze and if he escapes the maze he is free or they give his memory back

Code of Honor

The book I am currently reading is called Code of Honor by Alan Gratz. This is about a kid named Kamran Smith who is the most popular kid in school. This is because he is dating the most popular girl and is the star of his football team. Kamran can't wait to join the army just like his older brother Darius. There mom is from Iran but Kamran has always felt 100% American. Kamran was always looking at to Darius as a good role model. Many people at Kamran school know his brother Darius and had also seen him as a good person.
Darius was in The United States Military Academy and "He's in Afghanistan right now with the Thrid Ranger Battalion Speacial Ops, protecting your butt from terrorists." Then, suddenly Kamran mom "grabbed the steering wheel so hard I thought it was going to snap off in her hands." Kamran ask his mom what had happen and she said "It's Darius." There was an attach in the US embassy in Trukey and there was someone who looks like Darius. Darius was in the attack and many people believed that I was him who caused it. Because of what happen every thing started to change at school for Kamran. What I mean is his girlfriend the most popular girl in school was not talking to him and she said "Please don't call me anymore for a little while." Kamran is still curious on what had happen in the embassy and why his girlfriend had broken up with him.

Biography Blog (Steve Nash)

My biography book is just recently finished was called "Steve Nash Leader On and Off The Court." This book is about the basketball career of Steve Nash and his life outside of basketball. Steve was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in Feburary 7, 1974. He lived most of his life in Vancouver, Canada. Steve Nash was a very little kid with very big dreams. Throughout most of his life Steve was very postive about him self that he will make it far in basketball. He always said to himself that he will make the NBA and go to college to play basketball.
Steve Nash has always been a good role model to other younger kids look up too. He is a good role model because of his chemistry with his teammates and when he shows apperacte to the fans. In the book it says in page 44 " Whetever the fans like me or not is totally irrelevant at this point," Nash added. "My number one concern is the team . The fans have to be secondary . If the fans have give up on me, that's fine." This shows many things because about his fans and his team but he still cares about the fans,

Skink No Surrender

This new book I recently just started reading is called " Skink No Surrender." The genre of the book is mystery. The book has many parts in where there a lot of suspense. Also the main charcter is a boy named Richard. Richard is a teen and h enjoys to spend time with his friends and cousins.
One day Richard was gonna spend time with his cousin at the beach so they could scout for turtle nest. Before that his mother told him to be very careful because they may be some people who are not so nice. Richard was expecting his cousin their but he never showed up. He started to hear so breathing noises. He thought those noises where from his cousin just playing around with him. But he waited for his cousin to come out from where ever he was hiding but he never did. That's when Richard realized that it was someone else and not his cousin. In the book in page 3 it says " Approaching the turtles nest again, I put down the Easton and cupped my ears to muffle the sound of the waves. The mysterious breathing seemed to be coming from inside the rectangle of pink ribbons."  This part of the book is describing what Richard went to the beach to do and also it's showed what he was hearing. It talked about the breathing that was behind the bushes. This is a aha moment because it remind me when my mom also had told me the right thing to do but I didn't listen to her just like in the book.

Compare and Contarst

I'm going to compare and contrast two books I've finish this quarter .The first book is going to be Bystander by James Perrel and the other book is The Absoutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie . The two books have some similarities and differences. I personally enjoyed this two books because of the plot and the conflicts. Also I can sort of relate to them which the book a lot more interesting.
Some similarities that they both have is there both have the same genres which is Teen Fiction. This means that they both have topics about teens and the conflict that an average teen which face. In Bystander the conflict was that the main charcter needed to adapt to his new school in his new neighborhood. In the Absoutely True Diary he also need to adapt to the American high school and the new subjects of the school. The two main charcters in the books are similar because they are both very I courage to make new friends. They try there best to fit in with the other kids.
The difference between the is that the book bystander the conflict that the main character is already us to the America schools, how they work. But im the other book the main character he has new been in American schools only in a school of native Americans which he said was completely different.

The Absoulte True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Blog

The book I'm reading is called "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian." This book is about an boy named Junior who is Native American. He was different because he had many medical problems for example he had surgery when he was six months old. Junior is entering a new school were there is no Native American . The school is all white kids and he is very new to that. His main problem is fitting into the new system of the new school.
Junior is going to have not only with new friends but also with new subjects and teachers. The teacher  was a big problem for Junior because that when he first go introuble in school . The teacher name was Mr.P he was a elderly and that was junior sister teacher too. Mr.P thought he was almost the same as his sister. Junior sister was shy and would never really talk during class. But Junior way different. In the book it says " And let me tell you, Mr.p. Is weird looking dude. But no matter how weird he looks, the absolutely weirdest thing about Mr. P is that sometimes he forgets to come to school." This is showing that he has to get comfortable with the teachers because they are different that what he has witness or imaged.

Miracle on 49th street

The book I'm currently reading is called Miracle on 49thnstreet and this book is basically about how a kguy named Josh Cameron who was the practice facility for a summer camp for one of the best NBA team and it started when his goody bag was not the same as the other kids. His bag that they give everyone in the camp consistd of a signed basketball, and a t-shirt from the summer camp. He feels really special and feels that his finally noticed by someone.
This change in his life is very strange for him and he learn something from this moment in life . For examples not the book in page 4 it's says " you're my hero josh!" yelled from somewhere in the stands." This shows how he was starting to notice that people were noticing him. In book it doesn't really talk about how his emotion felt but I can analyze that I he felt very special and happy for himself that he was getting noticed.

Conflict Stupid Fast Blog

The title of the book is called Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach. The main charcter of this book is called Felton and his really fast. But he was not fast before school has started until after Wumer break he noticed that he finally went through puberty. This changes he went thought people took advantage because they made tryout out for some sport teams in his school. His speed would be very useful for some sports like for example track and football. He never has played a sport in Highschool because he was not good enough. But know he is and he wants to try something new.
He first when the coaches and some kids and teachers see how fast he is they ask him that he should join the track team because of how fast he is. Felton know that this something new for him but he wants to at least try. Also he knows that his got some comatishion with other kid who is older than Felton and probably better. In the book it says " I felt I had a reason for getting out of bed and trying to beat Ken Johnson." This shows that now in life he has a purpose not to just stay at home to wake up and do something.

Comapre And Contrast

What I'm combing and contrasting is my book bystander to real life event I've witness. The book bystander is about a bystander kid a named Eric who does not speak up to the bully and just watches him. I was witness's a real life event in a bystander has step up and told the bully that his doing something wrong. This two has similarities because they both had kids who were bystander that were just watching. But they have a differen because one of the them step up and was not afraid to tell the bully that what he is doing is wrong (real life event ).

Six Innings

This is the book that I recently finished was called Six innings by James Perrel. It's about a championship baseball game and it's the best two team in town going against each other. Each team have the best players in town . One of the kids name is Nick and he is the best pitcher because he strikes a lot of people out. Also the best player in other team is Dylan who is the teams best pitcher.
The point of view for this story is a kid named Sam he is also the announcer of the game . He also played baseball but his team lost. In page 5 it say " I wish I played in the game but I'm still part of it ." This is showing that the point of view of Sam. He as a announcer is saying who is up to bat . In the book I'm page 36 it says " leading off the top of the second inning it's shortstop carter Harris." This is Sam saying this for what he is seeing.

Amulet

The book I read during the winter break is " Amulet (Book One) " and it's a graphic novel. This book is about a family that unfortunately lose their father in a car crash and they have to continue there life's in a new house. The new house has some obstacles that the daughter will have to face just to save her family. She and her brother are given some powers that will help them defeat there obstacles.
I like this book because it has a conflict that is a conflict that may be solved in many different ways. I can connect with this because once I had a conflict that I could have been solved in many different ways. I had conflict in where I had enough ways to solve this conflict but I didn't know what way to solve it. For example the conflict that I had was I didn't finish an assument in school and I didn't have to time to finish it. So I ask my friends for advice for what to do and they gave me many different options to solve my problem. So I choice the easiest way to solve my conflict. In page 70 her brother is stuck and a little alien looking creature is about to attack him but she doesn't know what to do and she knows she how to save him but she's not sure about it and she choices to use her necklace that will help save his brother. This shows that to solve her conflict she had different ways to solve it but she choice one way to her conflict of saving her brother. I think I can connect with the conflict in the story with the conflict I have solved.
