Biography Blog (Steve Nash)

My biography book is just recently finished was called "Steve Nash Leader On and Off The Court." This book is about the basketball career of Steve Nash and his life outside of basketball. Steve was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in Feburary 7, 1974. He lived most of his life in Vancouver, Canada. Steve Nash was a very little kid with very big dreams. Throughout most of his life Steve was very postive about him self that he will make it far in basketball. He always said to himself that he will make the NBA and go to college to play basketball.
Steve Nash has always been a good role model to other younger kids look up too. He is a good role model because of his chemistry with his teammates and when he shows apperacte to the fans. In the book it says in page 44 " Whetever the fans like me or not is totally irrelevant at this point," Nash added. "My number one concern is the team . The fans have to be secondary . If the fans have give up on me, that's fine." This shows many things because about his fans and his team but he still cares about the fans,

Skink No Surrender

This new book I recently just started reading is called " Skink No Surrender." The genre of the book is mystery. The book has many parts in where there a lot of suspense. Also the main charcter is a boy named Richard. Richard is a teen and h enjoys to spend time with his friends and cousins.
One day Richard was gonna spend time with his cousin at the beach so they could scout for turtle nest. Before that his mother told him to be very careful because they may be some people who are not so nice. Richard was expecting his cousin their but he never showed up. He started to hear so breathing noises. He thought those noises where from his cousin just playing around with him. But he waited for his cousin to come out from where ever he was hiding but he never did. That's when Richard realized that it was someone else and not his cousin. In the book in page 3 it says " Approaching the turtles nest again, I put down the Easton and cupped my ears to muffle the sound of the waves. The mysterious breathing seemed to be coming from inside the rectangle of pink ribbons."  This part of the book is describing what Richard went to the beach to do and also it's showed what he was hearing. It talked about the breathing that was behind the bushes. This is a aha moment because it remind me when my mom also had told me the right thing to do but I didn't listen to her just like in the book.

Compare and Contarst

I'm going to compare and contrast two books I've finish this quarter .The first book is going to be Bystander by James Perrel and the other book is The Absoutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie . The two books have some similarities and differences. I personally enjoyed this two books because of the plot and the conflicts. Also I can sort of relate to them which the book a lot more interesting.
Some similarities that they both have is there both have the same genres which is Teen Fiction. This means that they both have topics about teens and the conflict that an average teen which face. In Bystander the conflict was that the main charcter needed to adapt to his new school in his new neighborhood. In the Absoutely True Diary he also need to adapt to the American high school and the new subjects of the school. The two main charcters in the books are similar because they are both very I courage to make new friends. They try there best to fit in with the other kids.
The difference between the is that the book bystander the conflict that the main character is already us to the America schools, how they work. But im the other book the main character he has new been in American schools only in a school of native Americans which he said was completely different.

The Absoulte True Diary of a Part-Time Indian Blog

The book I'm reading is called "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian." This book is about an boy named Junior who is Native American. He was different because he had many medical problems for example he had surgery when he was six months old. Junior is entering a new school were there is no Native American . The school is all white kids and he is very new to that. His main problem is fitting into the new system of the new school.
Junior is going to have not only with new friends but also with new subjects and teachers. The teacher  was a big problem for Junior because that when he first go introuble in school . The teacher name was Mr.P he was a elderly and that was junior sister teacher too. Mr.P thought he was almost the same as his sister. Junior sister was shy and would never really talk during class. But Junior way different. In the book it says " And let me tell you, Mr.p. Is weird looking dude. But no matter how weird he looks, the absolutely weirdest thing about Mr. P is that sometimes he forgets to come to school." This is showing that he has to get comfortable with the teachers because they are different that what he has witness or imaged.

Miracle on 49th street

The book I'm currently reading is called Miracle on 49thnstreet and this book is basically about how a kguy named Josh Cameron who was the practice facility for a summer camp for one of the best NBA team and it started when his goody bag was not the same as the other kids. His bag that they give everyone in the camp consistd of a signed basketball, and a t-shirt from the summer camp. He feels really special and feels that his finally noticed by someone.
This change in his life is very strange for him and he learn something from this moment in life . For examples not the book in page 4 it's says " you're my hero josh!" yelled from somewhere in the stands." This shows how he was starting to notice that people were noticing him. In book it doesn't really talk about how his emotion felt but I can analyze that I he felt very special and happy for himself that he was getting noticed.

Conflict Stupid Fast Blog

The title of the book is called Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach. The main charcter of this book is called Felton and his really fast. But he was not fast before school has started until after Wumer break he noticed that he finally went through puberty. This changes he went thought people took advantage because they made tryout out for some sport teams in his school. His speed would be very useful for some sports like for example track and football. He never has played a sport in Highschool because he was not good enough. But know he is and he wants to try something new.
He first when the coaches and some kids and teachers see how fast he is they ask him that he should join the track team because of how fast he is. Felton know that this something new for him but he wants to at least try. Also he knows that his got some comatishion with other kid who is older than Felton and probably better. In the book it says " I felt I had a reason for getting out of bed and trying to beat Ken Johnson." This shows that now in life he has a purpose not to just stay at home to wake up and do something.
